It’s that time of the year again! Beginning on the 5^th of February, The Deccan Herald Theatre Festival 2016 is here to captivate Bengaluru with a spectacular line-up of original, thought-provoking and experimental plays.

Given Bengaluru’s deep-rooted artistic culture, it is hardly surprising that year after year, the Festival continues to engage an ever-growing theatre audience. As curtains rise on one of the most awaited cultural events of the year, theatre aficionados can enjoy the plays of their choice throughout the month. Each group is set to perform on 4 different evenings at the 3 most prominent theatre locales in the city – Rangashankara, Jagriti and Chowdiah Memorial Hall.

As Karnataka’s oldest newspaper, Deccan Herald has long represented the spirit of Bengaluru by celebrating its rich cultural heritage, naturally continuing to encourage the prodigious talent in the city’s theatre community; and so our commitment to sustain and support this iconic event in Bengaluru’s cultural calendar remains resolute.

Scheduled over 5 weeks and showcasing works by renowned playwrights and theatre groups including Jagriti, Gnatak, Play Pen and Centre for Film & Drama, capture a mélange of emotions, making this year’s Festival a celebration of drama in its truest form.
